KBR Infrastructure Solutions Australia reimburses eligible staff for professional membership subscriptions that support professional development, networking and brand recognition. This guide explains how to claim reimbursement for your professional membership fees.

You are eligible for professional membership reimbursement if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • Employed by KBR Infrastructure Solutions Australia in a recognised professional role aligned with an undergraduate degree of 4 years or longer (or a combination of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees)
  • Pursuing membership of a profession that is in line with the strategic direction of the business
  • A regular employee in full-time or approved part-time arrangements

KBR will reimburse eligible staff up to $900+ GST towards payment for one professional membership subscription annually.

Your professional organisation must be individual membership based with the underlying objective of imparting professional knowledge. Collective membership industry bodies, unions and industrial advocates are not eligible.

Engineering:

  • Engineers Australia (Institution of Engineers Australia)
  • UK Engineering Council institutions (Institute of Structural Engineers, Institution of Chemical Engineers, Institution of Mechanical Engineers)
  • Commonwealth engineering institutions in Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and India
  • US organisations such as American Society for Mechanical Engineers and Society for Petroleum Engineers.

Other professions:

  • Chartered Accountants Australia
  • CPA Australia
  • American Association of Cost Engineers
  • Environmental, planning, science, legal, finance and human resources professional bodies [4]
  1. Pay your membership subscription

    Pay your professional membership subscription directly to the professional organisation.

  2. Obtain a valid receipt

    Collect a tax invoice for Australian-based organisations or another form of valid receipt for non-Australian based bodies [4].

  3. Update your records in Workday

    Maintain all professional membership details in Workday and update them annually to reflect currency.

  4. Submit your expense claim

    Submit a valid claim with your tax invoice or receipt through the expense claim process.

KBR encourages achievement of Chartered Professional status and will reimburse fees associated with the online application process.

For Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) administered by Engineers Australia, KBR support includes:

  • Engineering Workforce Credentialization (EWC) agreement with Engineers Australia (combined cohort for Infrastructure Solutions, ADSS and FN)
  • Individual application fees with endorsement from your operations manager

Professional registration (separate process)

Professional registration fees based on gazetted Acts are considered business expenses and are reimbursed separately from professional memberships.

This includes:

  • Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Registered Building Practitioner (NSW)
  • Legal Practicing Certificate

For professional registration reimbursement, you require endorsement from your operations manager.

  • The Vice President of KBR Infrastructure Solutions Australia reviews entitlements annually and has discretion to amend or withdraw benefits at any time
  • You must maintain all professional membership and registration details in Workday and update them annually
  • Records of payment are required for expense claims
