The EAC Builder or HOS tool is what we use to prepare our fee build up. The most recent version of the EAC Builder is found here. There is a lot to understand about the EAC Builder but we will keep it short for now working our way through the sheets.

General

This sheet is where we input all the project info like name, location, dates, client etc. It is also were the markups can be changed in orde to provide a more competitive fee.

Baseline

In this sheet we enter the WBS for the project.

Resources

In this sheet we add the people that will participate in the project. In the resources tab open the P+ Pane, select Resources and enter the names of all the people you want to add. Finally click Add Resources, you should see everyone’s info populate the sheet. Assign each member a project role.

F-Deliverables

This is the sheet we build up the KBR component of the fee. Input the team members along the top row using the drop-down menus. Input the WBS in the WBS Column Enter hours for each team member per task

F-Sub

This is the sheet we use to build up the fees for our subconsultants. Enter their info and the fee they provided in their proposal

F-Exp

This is the sheet we use to build up the fees for our expenses like travel, meals, accomodation. Enter the info and fees found online.

H12AQA

This sheet is the summary sheet, it shows the overall fee and total markup for the project.

  • How many hours per drawing do you have? Typical ranges are from 12-17 hours per drawing, and similar for engineering.
  • Need to ensure start and end times are correctly put in the forecast to ensure that esclation of rates (i.e. our pay rises!) are correctly accounted for.
